DOUBLE JETTYING

This is an example of jettying along adjacent walls. You can see how much bigger the upper floor is. The floor joists reaching out to each of the two walls necessarily follow directions at right angles to each other. This complicates the design of the joists at first floor level at the corner where they meet, and requires a sturdy post at the corner, called a "dragon post".
